The Music
Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring captures the essence of American optimism in this Pulitzer Prize-winning ballet suite. Set in 19th-century Pennsylvania, it follows a young couple celebrating their wedding and new home, featuring the beloved Shaker melody "Simple Gifts" that embodies the American spirit of finding joy in life's simplest blessings.
Dan Forrest's Jubilate Deo transforms Psalm 100 into a stunning 50-minute journey across seven languages and cultures. This masterwork includes liturgical Latin, Hebrew and Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Zulu, Spanish, and English, culminating in a finale where all cultures unite as one voice proclaiming "omnis terra, jubilate!"
